The opening of La Isla's Civic Center was a great success!

According to the U.N.I.C.E.F. branch office which was coordinating with us, La Isla de Chayanne's contribution was the largest ever received from a fan site! Way to GO!! The Civic Center director also received an email from Chayanne's office:

Dear Francesca,
The following is to let you know that I received your cards. Chayanne has not been to the office lately but I put it on his desk. Thank you and everyone in the site on his name.

You may have seen this around on the web, it is legitimate, they really do provide food for every click on the button. Your click adds to over 200 metric tons of food donated weekly to the United Nations World Food Programme. Please check it out!

And here's another charity site, but this one has a twist - you get something, too! AllStarCharity.com auctions off celebrity experiences (walk-on parts in TV shows, dinners) and memorabilia (signed scripts, dresses, artwork), and %100 of the auction proceeds go to charity. A couple of the charities they work with are the Starlight Childrens Foundation and the Make-A-Wish Foundation. They don't have any Chayanne stuff - yet. Maybe we can request?
